Fake Bake (OverWorks)
A massive, sour palestree stout that tastes like Bakewell's legendary fruit and almond cake. It is made with the addition of red berries, almonds and aged in rye whiskey barrels. The pie here turned out to be slightly less than expected, but the interweaving of chocolate, cherries and almonds in this beer plays just fantastic.
Appearance: black liquid with a slight redness to the light and a light brownish foam.
Aroma: most of all like a dessert with cherries and almonds, or like a "Drunken cherry" candy with added marzipan.
Taste: the first wave, this is a noticeable sourness of red currants, followed by less sour cherries, marzipan and almonds, which gradually go into a coffee and berry aftertaste with hints of almonds and sweets with jelly filling.
