CHRISTIAN DROUIN (France)

The history of this farm dates back to the middle of the 20th century.  At that time, Christian Droen, an industrialist from Rouen, acquired the Fiefs Sainte-Anne farm in Lower Normandy, and became involved in the production of apple spirits.  Together with his son, he created exactly the Calvados that France is now proud of!

Just a two-hour train ride from Paris is the beautiful Christian Drouin estate.  It is located not far from the small town of Pont L'Eveque, which is famous not only for ciders and calvados, but also for the production of delicious Camembert.

Created by Christian and his son, Calvados became so popular in the country in a rather short hour that the product produced was not enough to meet demand, so Christian decided to increase the production of spirits.  Only in 1979 did the stocks in his warehouse reach such proportions that there was enough production not only for the domestic market, but also for export.  In the 80s, Christian's son, Christian Jr., receives a special education, and begins to more actively promote the products of the economy, expanding the geography of the countries where Calvados is exported.  The company is currently run by the third generation of the family, Guillaume Droen, who, following the family tradition, produces some of the finest Calvados in the world.
