The private family brewery Lindemans has been run by the eighth generation of the Lindemans family - today the company is co-owned by the cousins Dirk and Gert Lindemans.
The brewery tries to follow all the innovations in the world of beer, but adheres to the family tradition - the basis of all the products of the plant is lambic.
Brouwerij Lindemans exports half of its beer to the USA and many European countries.
In 1809, the Lindemans family from the town of Wlesenbeek decided to brew beer on their lands, for this they had conditions on their farm - barley and wheat were grown on it. Winter time, free from agricultural work, was quite enough for brewing experiments, and the production of lambic began.
In 1930, all agricultural work ceased - the family business fully concentrated on beer production, the production of gueuze and creek begins, almost fifty years later, the Lindemans brewery begins to brew Faro, and then fruit lambics.
In 1991, the Lindemans family decided to build a new brewery - the old brewery could no longer cope with the demand for beer.
In 2009, the brewery produced 83,500 hectoliters of beer.
