ROBINSONS BREWERY (England)

Robinson Brewery is a family owned regional brewery founded on September 29, 1838, by William Robinson in Stockport, England.  The brewery has been in the possession of the Robinson family for six generations.  Manufacturing has continued to thrive for over 175 years.  The Hartley Brewery was incorporated into the company in 1982.  The Robinsons also acquired a number of other breweries over the years, including the John Heginbotham Brewery, Stalybridge (in 1915);  T. Schofield & Son, Ashton under Lyne (in 1926);  Kays Atlas Brewery, Ardwick (in 1929) and Bell & Co, Stockport (in 1949).  The company currently owns over 360 public buildings, most of which are located in North West England.  The brewery was renamed Unicorn Brewery, translated as “Unicorn”.
